Foster Confirmation

New Intake of Foster Kitties

Your Foster Carer Coordinator will be working with the FFARQ team on sourcing new foster kittens. Our cats and kittens come from various sources, including:

  • Regional pounds

  • Local surrenders

  • Giveaway sites in social media

  • Strays

  • Last Litter Program (unwanted kittens)

  • Returned FFARQ adoptees (this is rare but they are always a priority)

Your Coordinator will have talked to you about the age of the cats and kittens, and how many you can foster. This will be on your profile in the FFARQ Shelter Manager system.

Once we have a potential intake of kittens, you will either be contacted directly by your Coordinator, or a post will be made on the Foster Carer Facebook Forum.

Please respond to this request as soon as possible, so alternative arrangements can be made if you are not available.

Individual Care Plan

The Foster Carer Coordinator will contact you to discuss the care details and arrange a time for collection.

We will send you an email with a treatment plan attached. This will advise you of your pet's diet and the medications required. It will also provide you with an approximate date for vaccinations, desexing and the date your pet/s will go to Petbarn for adoption.

You will also receive an email a few days after you have your foster kitty with a link to a profile information template. Please complete this as soon as possible so we can start to build a profile and start promoting your foster pet/s.
