Vet Appointment for Medical Issues

FFARQ supports vet visits only after the FFARQ medical advisor has been contacted and approved the visit.
If the foster carer is concerned about the health of their foster (and this is not a medical emergency) they should contact their Foster Carer Coordinator - if they are not available post on the FFARQ Foster Forum.
Take photographs and videos of your foster and either send them to yourCoordinator or post them on the Forum. The FFARQ medical advisor will be in contact to let you know what action to take, and if a visit to the vet is required.
If a vet visit is required, the FFARQ Medical Advisor authorises the visit by notifying the Vet Bookings Team (cc Foster CarerCoordinator) - this is important as only approved visits will be paid by FFARQ.
The foster carer needs to make a Vet Booking Request on the FFARQ website. Vet Bookings will confirm by email to the foster carer.
NOTE- no payment is required as the bill will be sent to FFARQ directly.
IMPORTANT
Notify Crystal (FFARQ Medical Advisor - 0421 884 035) about the appointment time
If the vet is prescribing medicine or a treatment plan, ask them to contact Crystal for approval
If Crystal is not available, then contact Minnie (0423 088 558)
If you do not get a response and the matter is critical, call your Foster Carer Coordinator
for medicines, proceed as advised by the vet (note the exceptions for eye ointment and ringworm treated listed in this LINK - which the vet surgery has been sent previously)
